Kirsty and Paul chose to hold their wedding at the fabulous Alrewas Hayes in Staffordshire, a venue I"d already enjoyed photographing a wedding at earlier on in the year, and when my father Les of Barry James Photography asked me if I"d join him to capture Kirsty and Paul"s day, I simply couldn"t resist.
Being a familiar Alrewas Hayes wedding photographer, and after spending a pleasant evening getting to know Kirsty and Paul at the venue for their engagement portraits, I couldn"t wait for their big day as I knew it would just be amazing!
The day started for me at Kirsty"s mom and dads house capturing the morning preparations from the makeup by Hannah Carter and the fabulous hair design by Jamie from Richards Hair Design, just round the corner from me in Great Wyrley, and with such a relaxed, fun atmosphere the day started exactly as it meant to carry on.
Working as two independent photographers for Kirsty and Paul"s big day allowed great freedom to the coverage, as I was able to focus completely on the girls, not having to worry about the time I needed to be at the church. This meant I could stay with Kirsty right until she got into the car to leave, and made such a difference to the morning coverage.
Upon arriving at Alrewas church it was great to see Paul as chilled as ever, being captured with the boys by Les of Barry James, who actually knew Paul"s dad very well over 40 years before…crazy how lives keep crossing!
Alrewas is a fantastic church, and with a relaxed vicar we were able to get the exact coverage we desired, which now layed out in the album looks quite terrific.
The afternoon saw us finally arrive at Alrewas Hayes, for a super afternoon and evenings celebrations.
Having such a wonderful setting as Alrewas Hayes wedding photography is a pleasure around the venue, both inside and out, and especially when we were blessed with gorgeous evening light in the second portrait session with the Bride and Groom after the meal, the day could not have been better.
The little touches throughout the day, from the exquisite floral design from Fine Flowers, the amazing Sottero & Midgley from Rebecca Jaynes at Mix-n-Match Bridalwear to the stunning marquee dressing and decorations from Design Elegance, to the first dance being a recording of Paul singing, the day was amazing.
We had an absolutely fabulous time at Alrewas Hayes creating the wedding photographs for Kirsty and Paul, I hope you enjoy sharing this look into their perfect day.
It was such a pleasure to be working alongside my dad Les to capture Kirsty and Paul"s wedding, we don"t get to work alongside each other very often any more, but it"s always good fun when we do. To see Les" take on the wedding, please click here and to see the completed album design, click here.
